TERRITORY

We are in the land of Aglianico.
Indeed, from Aglianico from Taurasi.

Apennines, hills, woods, mountains. And in the middle the vineyards.

This is our Irpinia.
These are our wines.

On soil that changes every few meters: in some places gravelly and clayey, in others calcareous, in others sandy.
The ancient Greeks already cultivated vines here, and in fact the most representative vine of Irpinia, Aglianico, takes its name from “Hellenic” thus telling the age-old origin of viticulture in these lands.
The wine that expresses the personality of this territory more than any other is Taurasi, which absorbs the strength and complexity of the earth to give life to its notes of woodland, spices and herbs.

Vines and nature of Irpinia

We chose reduced yields, decreasing the quantity to have more quality.
We have chosen light tillage of the soil, to maintain the biodiversity characteristic of Irpinia and enhance the varietal aromas typical of each vine.
We wanted to put some beehives next to the vineyards. Because bees are good for the vineyard: they pollinate flowers and plants that help the well-being of the grapes. And above all because nature is their home. And the honey they produce is another of Marchesi di Scuderi’s delights. We don’t put it in a bottle, but in a jar.
